Career day at Gordon Elementary provided a wide variety of opportunities for K-5 students to learn about different occupations. In addition to volunteers discussing x-ray technology, ocean cable systems, firefighting and more, Charles City Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Katina Otey spoke about her career in education, which included a leadership role in Chesterfield County Public Schools. Career day helped students see the connection between school and work and exposed them to new career possibilities.
